Daemon

Kick the worker from the airport

You're in line at security. Slack pings: the order processor is wedged again, third time this week. You know the bug, you have a fix branch open, but it's not merging today. What it needs right now is a restart.

You unlock your phone. Tap the bookmark: it fires POST /api/v1/daemon/programs/{processor_id}/stop and then POST .../start back-to-back. The daemon stops the process, starts it fresh. You GET the status URL: RUNNING, new PID. You GET the stderr logs URL: clean.

The kick took twelve seconds. You're at the gate. No keypair on the phone, no VPN client, no bastion config, no laptop. The terminal you would have used isn't necessary because the daemon was always a URL: you just hadn't needed it from this side of a TSA line before.

Some bugs need a thoughtful fix. Some bugs need a kick. The kick is now an HTTPS POST.
