Scan the receipt, grep it next April

Every freelancer has the shoebox: a year of receipts, photographed in a hurry, scattered across a camera roll. April arrives and the accountant wants the ones from the hardware store.

The shoebox is now a folder on a container. A phone shortcut uploads each photo to the files URL the moment it's taken. A cron entry runs an exec script every night: it finds new images in receipts/inbox/, runs tesseract on each, writes the text beside the image, and moves both into receipts/2026/.

In April: /api/v1/files/grep/receipts/2026?pattern=Bunnings&ignore_case=true. Every matching line, with the file it came from, in under a second. The accountant gets receipts/2026/?zip.

No expense app, no subscription, no manual tagging. The shoebox is a folder, and the folder answers grep.
