The doorbell for your inbox

You don't want every email to ping you. You want the email from your editor, the email from accounts payable about wires over five figures, the email with "URGENT" from one specific domain. Three rules. No more.

A cron in your container hits the IMAP server every two minutes. A small script applies your three rules. When one matches, it POSTs to hoody-notifications: summary: "Editor: re: Tuesday draft", urgency: normal, body: "Subject + first line preview". The notification banners on the display tab open in your phone browser.

The reversal: Gmail's filters can color a label, but they can't notify your phone differently. iOS VIP Inbox is a list, not a rule engine. Zapier meters your tasks and runs on its own schedule. This is your script, your rules, your two-minute cron, your existing box.

Important is something only you can define. The notification just listens.
