Containers

A whole computer, claimed at function speed

Your product provisions a real container per signup: their database, their workers, their sandbox. A container takes one to five seconds to provision, and at signup time that's an eternity of spinner.

So the platform keeps warm pools. When a pool is warm for your server, the create call doesn't build a container: it claims one, assigned instantly, and your signup flow hands the customer a running computer before the confirmation email sends. Prespawning is the system's job, not a flag you set.

The old trade was functions (instant, tiny) or servers (slow, whole). The warm pool ends the trade: the whole computer arrives at function speed.

The signup gets a computer, not a function.
