CronExecPipe

A scheduled digest that fans out to 200 inboxes

Every morning at 7am you send a market summary to 200 paying subscribers. The naive design is a worker that loops through 200 SMTP sends in series, takes 11 minutes, occasionally fails halfway and double-delivers the early names.

The Hoody design is one cron entry that triggers a hoody-exec script. The script generates the digest once, then writes it to a hoody-pipe path with ?n=200. Two hundred lightweight curl loops: one per subscriber, each addressing the relevant SMTP: pull the same digest in parallel. The fan-out is HTTP, not SMTP.

The cron didn't get more complex. The fan-out got moved into the substrate.

One cron entry, one container, two hundred recipients.
