Pipe

Tail production logs to a URL anyone can curl

A fire happens. Three engineers want to see the same logs at the same time. Normally that means SSH bastion access, Datadog seats, or someone screen-sharing.

On the prod container, one line: tail -F /var/log/app/*.log | curl -T - https://{projectId}-{containerId}-pipe.{serverName}.containers.hoody.com/api/v1/pipe/live. The pipe holds the bytes for nothing: they stream straight through to whoever is reading.

Now your incident channel pastes one URL. Anyone with it runs curl https://.../api/v1/pipe/live and watches the same stream the SREs are watching. No agent install, no log forwarder, no dashboard seat. The pipe supports up to 256 readers. Your whole team can tail at once.

When the fire ends, you ctrl-C the sender. The pipe vanishes. There's nothing to clean up.

Logs aren't a place anymore. They're a path.
