Dismissed is the handoff
The night shift handled six alerts and left two. The day shift opens the alert display, sees eight, and spends the first twenty minutes asking which six.
Make the handoff an API call. When the night engineer clears an alert, the console sends POST /api/v1/notifications/dismiss with that notification's id. Dismissed notifications drop out of GET /api/v1/notifications/1 from then on, so the day shift's first request returns the two still open and nothing else. Nothing was deleted: at the post-mortem, DELETE /api/v1/notifications/dismiss?displayId=1 clears the dismissed state and the whole night reappears, in order.
No ticketing system in the middle, no ack bot, no shared spreadsheet of what was seen. The alert log itself knows what's been handled.
Dismissed doesn't mean gone. It means somebody has it.
