ContainersSnapshots
The customer's Preview button clones a container and gives it a day to live
You run a site builder. Customers click Preview before they publish, and each preview has to be a real build of their draft, at a URL they can send their boss.
Preview snapshot-clones the customer's container, checks out the draft, and creates an alias on port 3000 with expires_at twenty-four hours out. The customer gets draft-a81f.node-us.containers.hoody.com. Their boss opens it on a phone. Tomorrow it 404s. The container sits idle on the flat-rate box until a nightly pass deletes the ones whose alias has expired.
Two thousand customers, a few hundred previews live at any moment, most of them untouched after the first hour. On a per-app platform that's a few hundred line items. Here it's one server.
A preview link has a TTL because the alias does, not because you wrote a cleanup job.
