Stop renting dev environments by the seat

An agency rotates twenty contractors across eight client projects in a quarter. On Codespaces, that's twenty active seats, billed for every hour of work, plus storage for inactive ones. On Gitpod, it's the same shape. The seat license has nothing to do with the cost of the underlying compute: it's a tax on having developers on payroll.

On Hoody, every contractor gets their own container on the agency's bare metal box. Cloned from the project's golden snapshot, full IDE, full terminal, full repo. When the contractor finishes their week, the container suspends. When the engagement ends, it's destroyed.

Twenty containers across one bare metal box runs less than two seats on Codespaces. The math doesn't even need a slide.

Twenty contractors, twenty environments, one rent.
