Ticket 4417: "the budget file is gone and the spreadsheet is frozen." The old move is a remote-control session while the user watches their own cursor.
The user's desktop runs in a container, so it answers questions without being looked at. GET /api/v1/display/windows returns every window with its class, title and whether it's focused: a LibreOffice window, focused, titled Budget-Q4.xlsx. Not frozen, just behind a dialog. GET /api/v1/journal?path=/home/dana/Reports&limit=20 shows the file wasn't deleted; it was moved to Downloads at 09:41, the one drag the user doesn't remember.
Two GETs, twelve seconds, no remote session. The reply is a sentence with a path in it. If it needs eyes, ?readonly=true is one more URL, and the user keeps the mouse.
Support stops watching screens and starts reading state.
