The essay's journal shows it was written, not pasted
A novelist uses the file journal as track changes: ?history, ?at=, undo for the draft. A student uses the same journal to prove the essay is hers.
Every write on a journaled container is an append-only entry: ts, size_before, size_after, a hash of each side, a per-file seq. Her final.md shows forty-one writes across eleven days, growing 800 to 2,100 to 3,400 words, with a Thursday where it shrank. Another student's shows one write, at 11:52pm, size_before 0.
You don't run a detector. You GET /api/v1/journal?path=/essays/final.md&op=write and look at the shape. Writing has a shape. Pasting doesn't.
The container was journaled from day one. The disk kept the record, and the student who did the work is the one who wants you to read it.
Authorship isn't a similarity score. It's a curve in the journal.
