Eight clients' clouds, one folder, one grep
Eight clients, eight shared drives: three Google Drives, two Dropboxes, a OneDrive, a Box, an S3 bucket. The question on Thursday is which of them still has the old VAT number in a contract.
You POST /api/v1/backends/combine with upstreams acme=gdrive-acme: birch=dropbox-birch: cobalt=onedrive-cobalt: and so on, each client under its own subdirectory. Mount it at /clients. Now /clients/acme/ is their Drive and /clients/birch/ is their Dropbox, one tree, eight roots.
Then GET /api/v1/files/grep/clients?pattern=GB123456789. Ripgrep walks all eight in one call and comes back with four files in three clouds. You never opened a browser tab. You never logged into anyone's Drive. The agent gets the same URL and the same answer.
Eight clouds became one directory, and a directory is something you can grep.
