CronBrowser

The shared research browser forgets everything at two

The compliance team shares one browser for vendor portals and case lookups. It lives in a container, on a display they open in a tab. By Friday it knows every login, every search, every visited page.

Two cron entries fix that. At 02:00, one calls DELETE /cookies?browser_id=0. The other calls DELETE /history, which with no filters clears every persisted navigation record across every instance. Both carry a comment, so the next admin knows why the browser is amnesiac.

Nothing to install in the browser. No extension policy, no group policy object, no profile script that runs when a laptop boots. The browser's memory is an HTTP resource, and forgetting is a DELETE.

Shared machines keep secrets by accident. This one is told to stop every night.
