Open the 2024 project; it still compiles

Eighteen months after you shelved the side project, you come back. On a laptop, this is archaeology: the runtime moved two major versions, half the dependencies no longer resolve, the build tool renamed itself, and the README describes a world that's gone. On Hoody, the project's container is exactly where you left it: the runtime that built it, the packages that resolved, the database with your test data, the half-finished branch still checked out. It idled the whole time at close to nothing, because idle containers share their disk blocks and burn no CPU.

You open the terminal URL and run the build. It passes, because nothing in the machine changed while you were away.

Instructions rot. Machines, left alone, don't.
