Develop under the path you'll deploy under

The app will live at /tools/reports/ behind the company proxy, but dev runs at localhost:3000/: so every hardcoded absolute path works perfectly until launch day. Hoody Code's port proxy has a second route for exactly this. The absproxy route keeps the full prefix when forwarding, so your dev server is browsed and tested at /absproxy/3000/... from the first save; configure the upstream to serve from that base path and the subpath bugs surface in development, where they're a fix, not in production, where they're a rollback.

The plain proxy route strips the prefix when you want the ordinary view, and both routes sit behind the editor's authentication rather than an open port.

The base path stops being a launch-day discovery and becomes a dev-time setting.
