The quarter tier is a discount, not a contract

The VP of Engineering is budgeting Q4. The listing shows its durations: a monthly tier, and a 90-day tier that costs less than three months and waives the setup fee. The rental object carries its frozen renewal tiers, so the renewal price she plans against is a ceiling, not an estimate.

She rents the quarter. That's the decision. No commitment form, no reserved-capacity marketplace, no penalty clause. The rental runs to rental_end, enters a hold period, and ends unless someone renews it. Nothing auto-renews. The one trade-off is stated plainly: no early cancellation, no refund for unused days. So she sizes the commitment to what she's sure of.

Reserved pricing on the big clouds asks you to predict three years of usage for a discount. Here the discount is ninety days, and the prediction is one quarter.

Commitment is a duration field, and the longest one is the one you chose.
