Daemon
Run a Rust binary you compiled five minutes ago
You wrote a small service in Rust. cargo build --release produced a binary at ./target/release/myservice. You want it running, supervised, with logs. PM2 is built for a Node world. systemd wants a unit file you don't feel like writing. Docker wants a Dockerfile for one binary.
You POST to /api/v1/daemon/programs/add with command: "/home/me/target/release/myservice", autorestart: "true", and user: "me". Enable. Start. The Rust binary is now a supervised long-running process with stdout and stderr captured.
The daemon doesn't care that it's Rust. It would have done the same for a Go binary, a Python script, a Node entrypoint, a .sh file you wrote during lunch. supervisord is language-agnostic; the HTTP API kept it that way.
Daemon doesn't ask what language. It asks what command.
