Exec

Staging is a second hostname on the box you already pay for

Same container, three hostnames. exec-1 serves the API. exec-2 takes the webhooks. exec-test is where Tuesday's rewrite lives.

Each instance is a directory: scripts/default/1/, /2/, /test/: with its own routes and its own shared object, so a runaway cache in test never touches the counters in production. The instance ID sits in the hostname and the storage path and nowhere in the URL: /api/orders is /api/orders on all three. A new ID is routable the moment you create it; GET /api/v1/exec/list shows what exists. Promotion is the file landing in 1/. Rollback is the previous file.

There is no staging server, no staging tier, no second bill. Staging is a second hostname on the box you already pay for.
