The editor is an opinion; the computer is a fact

This year's AI editor is not last year's, and next year's is in a beta you haven't tried. Every switch used to mean rebuilding the environment the tool lived in.

On Hoody the environment doesn't live in the tool. The project is a container: code, databases, running services, shell history. Claude Code can drive it as the session backend; aider runs in its terminal; the browser editor takes your extensions. Try the new agent Monday, go back Wednesday: the container neither noticed nor cared, and idle projects cost nothing while you deliberate.

Tool churn stopped being migrations and became visits.

The editor is an opinion; the computer is a fact.
