Containers

Churned customers keep their container, and win-back is a login

A customer cancels in February. On metered infrastructure you export their data, delete their instance, and send the "we kept a backup for 30 days" email. The instance was a line item, and the line item had to go.

On Hoody their container stays. It's a copy off your template sharing most of its blocks with the other nine hundred, and nothing in it is running. It costs the box nothing measurable to keep. So you keep it: for a year, by written policy, not by accident.

In September they come back. No import wizard, no "start fresh." Their dashboards, their integrations, their six months of history are exactly where they left them. The win-back email says your account is still here, and it's true.

Churn used to mean deletion; now it means idle.
