CodeContainers

Three editors for one monorepo, one container

You work in a monorepo: API in Go, web in Next.js, mobile in Swift. Switching contexts in one VS Code window means closing tabs, losing terminal panes, re-running watchers.

You bookmark three URLs into the same container: id=1 rooted at /repos/api, id=2 rooted at /repos/web, id=3 rooted at /repos/mobile. Each instance has its own port, its own data directory, its own extensions, its own settings. The Go extension lives in instance 1. The TypeScript extension lives in instance 2. They never collide.

You drag each editor into its own browser window. Three windows, three projects, one disk underneath. The shared filesystem means cross-references resolve naturally; the isolated VS Code instances mean each window has its own state.

One container, three windows, three contexts: no workspace gymnastics.
