You can pause a standing order, expire it, or re-fund it. You cannot quietly change what it says
The CI loop has fired every thirty minutes since January: prompt "Check CI status and report failures," max_cost_usd 5. Someone wants it to also merge green PRs.
They PATCH the loop. It doesn't take: a loop's prompt and interval are fixed for its lifetime. PATCH /sessions/{id}/loops/{loopId} accepts exactly one intent per request: paused, expires_in, or a budget: and a body that mixes two is rejected with bad_request rather than half-applied. To change what the loop says, you delete it and create a new one.
So the change is visible as a change: the old id leaves the session's loop list, a new id arrives with the new prompt. When the budget runs dry, PATCH max_cost_usd revives it without touching the words.
