The living-room TV is the writing desk

The TV has a browser. You pair a Bluetooth keyboard with it, open the display URL, and the writing desktop fills a 55-inch screen: LibreOffice on the left, the reference PDF on the right, a terminal underneath. ?decorations=false&toolbar=false&dark_mode=true strips the chrome so nothing on screen belongs to anyone but you. ?encoding=h264 keeps the scrolling smooth.

Nothing runs on the TV. It decodes video frames and sends keystrokes. The container does the work, and it's the same container your laptop opens at the desk and your phone opens on the train.

When you're done you close the tab. The manuscript stays where it was. Tomorrow the laptop opens it at the same paragraph, with the same cursor position.

Any screen with a browser can be a workstation, because the workstation is elsewhere.
