Where is my data is a field on the container

A customer emails support: where exactly is our data? On most platforms the honest reply involves a region code and a paragraph about replication.

Your reply is a lookup. The customer's container record names its server. The server record names its region and city, because the machine is physical and listed that way on the marketplace. You paste it back: Frankfurt, on a server rented to you alone, with the snapshots on the same disk. The customer gets a city, not a region code.

If they ask again next quarter, it's the same lookup and it's still true, because data on a Hoody server stays on that server unless you copy it somewhere. There is no background process relocating it for durability or latency.

Every customer's data location is a fact you can query, not a policy you have to trust.
